I've been licensed for more than 20 years by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners to practice counseling and psychotherapy in California. I completed my graduate education at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, earning a Master of Social Work degree with an emphasis in community mental health. After graduate school, I enrolled in a Kansas City-based family therapy training program in which my work with families and couples was monitored by two experienced therapists, who watched from behind a one-way mirror. Since 1992, I've been in private practice in Claremont.
Over the years, my passion has evolved into helping hard-working clients tired of sabotaging themselves, typically in relationships. The possibilities for doing this are endless…ranging from choosing betraying partners to putting up barriers when a relationship looks promising. Even being super-duper responsible in a relationship can be a form of self-sabotage. Whatever the circumstance, hurting yourself has its roots in underlying thoughts and feelings.
